The project
The Positive Food Project extends over the entire department of Dakar, encompassing the many cities that make it up. Our ambition is to plant 10,000,000 million moringa trees in collaboration with municipalities, sponsors, Waters and Forests, as well as all the stakeholders involved.
The environmental benefits of this project will be considerable. The 10,000,000 million moringa trees will sequester approximately 3,000,000 tons of CO2 each year, thus contributing significantly to the fight against global warming.
Economically, this project will generate many benefits. Moringa trees will provide income opportunities to local associations who will be responsible for their management and harvesting. In addition, the transformation of moringa leaves into products with high added value, such as powder and food supplements, will open up new economic prospects for local actors.
In summary, the Positive Food Project in Dakar is a major initiative that will have a major environmental impact by sequestering millions of tons of CO2. It will also open up promising economic prospects, thus creating a virtuous circle for the preservation of the environment and the socio-economic development of the region.
